Anthony Rogers is truly a struggling artist who doesn’t have much.
He’s homeless. He doesn’t always has food for himself. But he does have a best friend. His beloved dog, Bobo, who always gets a full meal.
So when Rogers woke up on Aug. 31 to find his 1-year-old labrador pitbull mix gone, he was despondent.
“He was distressed and immediately contacted friends to help him look for Bobo,” Memphis Animal Services explained in a Facebook post. “They made signs and put them all over town.”
Two weeks later, the dog from the posters showed up at the shelter.
Staff called the number and Rogers and a friend showed within minutes.
Their reunion was caught on video.
And, it is an absolute tearjerker.
Bobo ran over to Rogers.
With his tail wagging, the dog climbed all over Rogers and stole a few kisses as they sat on the floor together.
“Their reunion was pure joy,” the shelter wrote. “Bobo could not contain his happiness at seeing his dad again.”

The same could be said for Rogers.
His best friend was back.

Bobo was vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
The facility also gave Rogers a year’s supply of heartworm prevention medication, a bag of dog food, a harness, leash, collar and ID tag.
“Bobo is healthy and happy, but he needs to keep going to the vet every year to stay that way,” the facility said.
And now, a local veterinary clinic, Utopia Animal Hospital, is collecting donations for Bobo’s continued care.
People also have been reaching out asking how they can help Rogers.
Some local residents and friends have now set up a GoFundMe, which in just a few days has raised more than $5,000 from more than 200 people who have been touched by the story.
