Rex the dog rescued a bird from the bottom of a tree near Whittier, California.
Rex’s owner Ed Gernon nursed the bird back to health and the hummingbird, who now goes by “Hummer” is repaying her new family with loyalty.
Hummer doesn’t leave Rex side, flitting in and around him, even while Rex eats.
