Nevermind all the scuttlebutt around childless cat ladies, Lorenzo The Cat might be onto something for the Democrats next VP pick.
Or, at least proof that even married men with children who happen to be prominent politicians like cats.
Check out this photo of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz stroking the head of a purr-fectly content cat seated like a loaf on a barrel.
“That time Governor Tim Walz stopped to pet a cat while on his One Minnesota Listening Tour as Governor-election in 2018,” the Maine Coon cat, a popular social media star, posted on X Sunday.

Of course, Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris is expected to select her vice-presidential running mate imminently.
Walz, a former military man and educator, is among the front-runners for the post.
Miami-based photographer Joann Biondi adopted Lorenzo after he was tossed in a garbage bin shortly after birth. She has since made him an internet celebrity through her images and thoughtful social media commentary.
It’s pretty clear where the internet is leaning for Harris.
“I’m a Cat Lady for Harris! I know Walz has a cat also. This is good to see!!” posted Lori Johnson.
“Yup! He’s got my vote,” posted Marina Lewis.
Cats for Peace wrote: “Kitty looks very happy too. Gov Walz loves all animals. Will miss him as our Governor, but will be happy to have him as VP.”
Dr. Dilan Laths posted: “Cat Ladies that JD Vance defames stand w Tim Waltz, he recognizes, supports, understands & appreciates cat companionship.”
Lisa aka “Maggie the Cat” wrote: “Elect this man now! Cat men are keepers!”
Walz is truly a cat dad.
Here he is with his kitty Afton.
J.D. Vance, former U.S. president Donald Trump’s Republican running mate, has come under fire for comments he made in 2021 saying Democrats were essentially “a bunch of childless cat ladies with miserable lives.”
The senator from Ohio suggested those without children don’t have the same stake in the country as those who do.
Those childless cat ladies, he said during an interview at the time, are so miserable in “the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too.”
The hashtag #CatsforKamala has taken off as part of the countdown to November’s U.S. election.
Walz, by the way, also has a dog.
