The biggest day of the year for dragons happened over the weekend.
To all dragons, dragon lovers and those who appreciate dragons, we apologize for missing it.
We’ll make sure we mark our calendar for 2017 and be better prepared. It’s every January 16.
@LowryParkZoo Komodo was beautiful today, laying up against the wall. Visit 6 and still no baby okapi, but I did see the baby orang!

Appreciate a Dragon Day was started in 2004 by author and retired teacher Donita K. Paul to celebrate famous literary dragons.
Check out the literary dragons artists create on this Tumblr site.
The occasion was marked, fittingly, by Wales, which has a dragon as the symbol on its flag.
