Photos of dogs taken at rallies around the U.S. and the world have prompted a debate over whether it’s safe for pets to attend protests.
Make no mistake: everyone loves dogs. Some people just don’t think they belong at a protest where there might be tear gas and violence.
Owner Sarah Emrick’s dog name Buddy became a mascot when he was walking around with a cardboard sign in his mouth. She defended her decision to bring Buddy and said he was never in danger of being hurt.
