Putting a new twist on the old used car salesman joke, the Calgary Humane Society owns the market on “pre-owned cats.”
Now, it wants you to drive them off the lot.
The non-profit’s new pitchman, “Joe Foster,” who is all flash and class, has deals – today only – on black cats, white cats, tall cats and short cats. Cats of all shapes and sizes, really.
The Calgary Humane Society is hosting its “Cat-tastic Summer Pawty” Aug. 22 from 11 to 3 p.m. Would-be cat owners can “spin the wheel of deals” to get 25, 50, 75, and even 100 per cent off of their adoption fees on all animals older than 7 months.
“We’ve got bouncy castles, cotton candy treats, frozen drinks, crafts, face paint, balloons AND adorable adoptables – spin the wheel of deals to see what your reduced adoption price will be! Not in the market for a new fur baby? That’s OK! come down to our CAT-TASTIC PAWTY this Saturday, August 22 for some free family fun…it’s going to be a CAT of a time!”
The “actor” in this awfully hilarious advertisement is actually Phil Fulton, the humane society’s manager of community outreach, who does a helluva job playing off the stereotypes at a used car lot.
