Calgary police canine calendar quite possibly hotter than any firefighter version

Just try to keep up with these dogs. The Calgary Police Service Canine Unit’s charity calendar is now on sale. But probably not for long. It sold out last year within 48 hours.

The second annual calendar in support of the Calgary Police Foundation raised more than $30,000 last year for services that teaches kids about crime, police and smart choices.

The 13-month calendar, which features most of the unit’s 21 dogs, is also larger and features a special nine-picture centerfold.

Due to high demand, 8,000 of the $10 calendars have been printed and are available online at www.calgarypolice.ca or www.calgarypolicefoundation.ca. Don’t worry if you miss the first run, a second printing is likely.

The city’s police dogs are called into action at more than 8,000 calls every year. Since January, at least 175 arrests can be attributed directly to the ciry’s K9 unit.
