Canine swim ends dog days of summer in Calgary

In what’s become a Labour Day classic, dog owners – and lovers – enjoyed one last splash in some of Calgary’s outdoor pools. For the third straight year, dozens of dogs flocked to the Mount Pleasant Outdoor Pool in the city’s northwest for the opportunity to swim in a pool designed for people. Six o’clock means the end of outdoor summer swim season (yes, summers are horribly short here) and signals a free-for-all for pooches. Every breed from Yorkshire terriers to Burmese mountain dogs did some laps.

But first, the rules. Among them, thou shalt not poop in the pool:

Entrance fee is $2, which goes to charity.
