Horse farm owner guilty of abuse, but gets to keep her horses

So, a New York State woman is convicted of animal cruelty, but won’t go to jail and is allowed to keep 52 horses – even though she was found guilty of abusing them.

Beth Lynne Hoskins had 73 horses taken from her farm three years ago amid allegations of neglect. The local SPCA wrote a letter to the judge about the case. The prosecution wanted her animals taken away and two years in jail. But the horsewoman now faces three years probation, 500 hours of community service and a $52,410 fine. Oh, and she must have one worker for every 15 horses.
