It was an unusual Sunday morning call for police in northern Alberta.
A report of ducklings in a the sewer near the intersection of Ash Way and Lodgepole Way in Fort McMurray.
“When police arrived, they found the mother duck on the ground, but they could hear the ducklings below, in the sewer,” Wood Buffalo RCMP said in a statement. “The members removed the manhole cover, and climbed into the sewer to save the ducklings.”
Behold: Mountie down a manhole.
And voila, success.
“All seven ducklings were retrieved and returned to their mother,” RCMP Cpl. Erika Laird happily reported.
