Orphaned bear cub taken in by…chickens.

Usually bears break into the chicken coop and eat the chickens.

Not Tinsel, an orphaned bear cub.

He was found living in a chicken coop for nearly five days co-existing with the hens in the tiny B.C. village of Midway.

When found by the animal shelter Northern Lights Wildlife from Smithers (give them some love here), Tinsel was severely malnourished, weighing just 21 pounds. He’s 10 months old and should weigh almost twice that much.

It’s believed he may have lost his momma two to three months ago. If all goes well, Tinsel will be released back into the wild next summer.
